Photo gallery

Post by alex »

Hi,

Looks like that the photo gallery resizes photos despite their size. Even when I upload a relatively small photo of let's say Full HD or even 900x600 it gets resized. It makes no sense to me. Can the photo gallery be updated so it doesn't resize mid-size photos?

The gallery is configured to create intermediate and thumbnail-sized versions of the original picture when uploading. The intermediate size is 1024x768 if memory servers me correctly.

I'd like to keep this functionality as the default. You can always resize your own pictures to something else, but I suppose there's always gonna be three different sizes of any pic uploaded.

What I meant is that I uploaded a few Hanko regatta photos of 900x600 size to avoid unnecessary resizing, but they were downsized to 640x427.

Example: http://www.fe83.org/gallery/view_photo. ... 39_900x600

At the same time this photo http://www.fe83.org/gallery/view_photo. ... 162309_jpg was originally 3264x2448 and was downsized to 1024x768.

My point is: if an uploaded photo is already smaller than your default size why downsizing it? Just keep large- and mid-sized copies the same and generate only a thumbnail.

Try and adjust the intermediate size in your album larger than the pic you're uploading.
