Jotenkin on jäänyt unholaan vanha tapa kippareiden tehdä kisaraportti tänne foorumiin. Onko tämä tapa vaihtunnut pariin kommenttiin What up ryhmässä?![]()

No joo...veneessä siis Rea ja allekirjoittanut.
Vendan hetkellä olisimme menneet hienosti kisassa mukana olleen x-79:n takaa tai mahdollisesti olisin hieman joutunut pudottamaan kurssia alas ajaakseni perän takaa.

Onnittelut Alexille voitosta!

Thanks to Petri's RC it was an upwind start, then Track 2 standard direction.
We were three - Masha, Panu and me.
SW wind about 6 m/s, easing. We left the harbor with Genoa 3 because of strong 7-8 m/s actual wind at Harmaja, but changed to G1 just before the race because the wind didn't feel hard at all. It was a good decision, G1 was just perfect.
The starting line was skewed a bit making RC vessel side slightly more favorable.
The start was good. We made a well timed approach to RC vessel, took leeward position to the majority of the fleet, lifted Sans Rival and forced her to nearly stop right next to RC vessel, then made a clean start.
We already had an advantage after the upwind mark. We sailed with G1 to S-mark-N-mark gate then hoisted spinnaker. Could have sailed closer to the rocks behind the S mark, but didn't really know how close we could come. Now we know the safe distance since Maxi 999 sailed quite close.
Because of the riskier shorter route Maxi gained on us, but then they fell behind just before the green mark.
To the mark we came clear ahead/clear astern. At the mark Maxi managed to slip her bow between us and the mark though they were not entitled to mark-room. We luffed and forced Maxi to tack to PORT right at the mark.
Beating was quite smooth. Left side of the course felt better and we were keeping to that. However, we had couple of lifts on PORT tack. Maxi and First 27.7 got us on this leg. Close to intermediate red mark we hailed room-to-tack to First 27.7 who were holding us on course. They promptly tacked so did we. At next tack the situation became the opposite, they hailed room-to-tack. Tactically it was smart of them because they put us into Maxi's back wind. Hence, we tacked again very soon and crossed the fleet. Then we had clear wind till the upwind mark as we were crossing the fleet ahead of us every tack.
We came to the upwind red mark on PORT tack, had to duck behind First 27.7 which was on STBD just before the mark. Spinnaker right after rounding. We had a lot better speed than First 27.7 and we passed them during first minutes after rounding. They were sailing with genaker, but looked like they were pointing too low and had no advantage. Further sailing to the green mark was nice and peaceful. Maxi 999 predictably built some distance, Sans Rival got closer, First 27.7 didn't gain anything or even lost some, the rest of the fleet stayed at about the same distance from us.
During the last leg positions and distances didn't change.
Second on the finish line, first overall. 3 minutes ahead of next fastest FE. Thanks to all the crew, RC and competitors!
