Hello,

Does anybody have a rivet tool (niittipihti) to borrow for a weekend or two in Helsinki area? Will use with care and will be thankful.

Need one for rigging? Pop-rivet?

We have one in our club, but if you're going to pop-rivet something to your mast
it would probably be a bit cumbersome to bring the mast to lauttasaari.

I have small one, but it isn't suitable for monel pop-rivets (used in rigging). You can
probably pick one of these for 10¤ or so from any hardware store.

A PRO-version from biltema is like 56¤:

I saw one pretty good tool in Biltema for about 55¤ and many crappy ones for 7-10 ¤¤. 55¤ sounds too much for amount of work I need (have to fix a block to the mast), but 10¤ could work...

Hmm, I checked our member's board and we have a member with
the same riveting-tool mentioned earlier, along with appropriate drillbits. We have
this lending-ring among members.

Why not become a member? :)

I already asked myself couple of times. I always find a perfect excuse - "I can always do it tomorrow". Probably, it's now the time. Especially since you asked. :)

How good is your Finnish? http://www.fe83.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=702

I ought to do a translation I suppose.

It is not good, unfortunately. I can slowly read and can speak when nobody is around or I am trapped or both. :o English is OK.

I sent the application by e-mail. :)

Harald is probably referring to me here. I do have this Biltema tool:

http://tinyurl.com/zq45c

You can use it for up to 6,4 mm pop rivets. You can borrow it if you want. I have it at home in northern Helsinki, but I also spend a lot of time in Lauttasaari this time of year, so I can deliver it anywhere in between...

Just give me a call 040 727 4123, and we can discuss when and where you want it...

You should use monel rivets when you fix stainless parts to aluminium mast, but finding those is difficult. If someone knows a good source for monel rivets in Helsinki area, please tell...
